We now have only 7 days to complete our feasibility study.
In just a few weeks, we have learned a lot, not the least of which is the demand for such a wonderful place, even in our small town.
To some degree, we have ventured out with little more than a vision of something wonderful, and a purchase contract. Along the way, we have met so many new friends. We have made many new partnerships which we hope to share soon. And we have not been idle in the least bit. (We have a meeting this week with Shenandoah County Tourism!)
However, we are anxiously waiting the Town's decision. According to administrative procedures, the Zoning Administrator has 30 days to review an application, at which point the application may be sent on to the Planning Commission for review, and then onto the Town Council for a vote. The Town Code does allow, however, for the possibility of a Special Meeting (one such meeting will be held tomorrow evening at 7 PM to approve the Town budget). We have had wonderful feedback and encouragement from our Town leaders, and have requested such a meeting.
Faith has two elements: 1) being convinced of the truth, being certain of reality, having evidence of unseen things, and 2) believing, hoping in, embracing, seizing the truth.
Let's seize the truth together, and hope and pray that our Town will look upon our project with favor and expediency for the sake of the Vision and a new project in Town.
How you can help:
- If you are a vendor considering the outdoor or indoor space, and have not yet filled out an information request form, we need to hear from you now! We have had nearly 100 unique visits to the "Lease Opportunities" page in just 3 weeks. There is no commitment to complete the vendor information form, and everyone's information is confidential, so send us your information. You will receive an update of the project and availability of spaces as soon as we have approval. (I can say we are considering giving "FREE" spaces for the first month, and we plan to charge a very nominal flat rateafter that- no commissions!)
- Write an email of support and request that our project be heard on an expedited basis. The Town's email is: townoffice@mountjackson.com.
- If you are in the area and a potential customer of the market, keep watching this space for the meeting date with the Town Council; then come out to show your support!
