What have we been up to? Basically staying focused on keeping the clients of our primary business, Gerald Forsburg Associates, happy with the level of work we do, as well as putting food on our tables.
So, what about the Farmers' Market? We've never given up hope, or the vision, or the interest. The vision has always been for an outdoor farmers' market in the center of Town, and a unique indoor space.
This week, we were referred to a great grant program sponsored by Chase called Chase Mission Main Street Grants.
Each year, Chase awards numerous small business grants for development of "Main Street" for-profit businesses. This year 20 grants in the amount of $150,000 a piece, will be awarded! That's no small change.
We need a minimum of 250 votes by October 17th to be reviewed by the Panel.
We plan to use the funds to expand the design business, which will include capital improvements to the Old Farm Bureau building.
We are applying under our design business, which will then be housed inside the old building. That business, being a tenant, will be able to make contributions to the capital improvements to the building.
There are thousands applying, and only 20 recipients, so we know the odds aren't in our favor, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Grant recipients will be announced in January 2015.
