KickStarter is All-Or-Nothing. If the goal is not met, pledges are not processed. We, and our backers, walk away empty handed.
We are now down to less than 2 weeks, with over $16,000 still to raise. We been encouraged by KickStarter projects like Double Fine, a Video Game company that raised $1.4M in just 8 hours, and is currently over $2M! This has been discouraging too, as it seems that the general population is more willing to back a video game than a farmers' market.
We are very grateful for the many backers that have pledged to our project, and even pleasantly surprised by several $1,000 pledges and even one $5,000 pledge.
WHSV has been supportive with great interviews. WSIG is running announcements through the end of the KickStarter Effort. And Shentel's Simply Local will start running an interview this afternoon. Several of our reward partners, such as Flavor Magazine and Shenandoah Valley Music Festival, have been great about getting the word out too.
We've been spreading the word on Twitter and Facebook.
We set out to raise $25,000 - the amount that our Town made available to individuals a few years back as economic development loans. Will we reach our goal? Only the next 14 days will tell. Please continue to pass the word, and if you haven't pledged yet, we need your pledges.
(If you've been unfortunate enough to win the lottery in the past few days, KickStarter allows you to make multiple pledges.) ;-)
Most importantly, thank you for your support.
